One awkward movement - and your favorite shirt or skirt is spoiled by a large oily stain. This situation is familiar to many. You can save clothes stained with fat by remembering reliable grandmother's methods.
To approach a greasy stain on clothes, you must first with the simplest means, and only then let powerful stain removers into battle. As a precaution, a small board covered with several layers of fabric is used, which is placed from the inside of the product (if necessary, the backing is lined).
Freshly placed stains of fat help to remove paper towels, 2-3 layers of which are laid on both sides of the fabric and ironed with a warm iron. The procedure is repeated, changing towels. After that, the residual traces are carefully wiped with gasoline or a stain remover, moving from the edges to the middle, so that an ugly halo does not turn out. If an oil stain forms on velvet, do not iron it, but gently wipe it with a warm crumb of white bread.
Old fat spots are immediately cleaned with a cotton swab dipped in gasoline, and then with a soapy solution. If light wool is stained, then potato starch is diluted with water to a pulp state and the mixture is applied to the stain for several hours. After that, the remaining fat is removed with gasoline and wiped with a stale crumb of bread.
For fabrics that the instruction prohibits washing in water, dry cleaning is suitable. The product is placed on a white cloth, and heated potato starch is poured onto the stain. After half an hour it is shaken off and a new portion is poured. Repeat the procedure until the pollution disappears completely, and then brush the clothes.
