At enterprises, in hospitals, children's educational institutions, catering establishments, the storage of disinfectants is strictly regulated. The rules are described in SanPiNah. Their implementation is monitored by inspection bodies. At home we are our own masters and inspectors. And the main control body is our health and the health of our family. And remember that chlorine, phenol, ammonia, formalin are active suppliers of carcinogens.
What to watch out for
Almost all disinfecting household chemicals, from the “beloved” bleach, which our grandmothers, nurses and cleaners abundantly poured or watered on toilets and bathrooms, to modern cleaners for tiles, plumbing and bathrooms, contain chlorine, ammonia, phenol and other substances unsafe for health. We know the basic rules of how to handle them (with gloves on, with the door open and the hood turned on). But often we forget about caution when storing these disinfectants.
Recall that a good housewife has everything reserved for the future. And storage instructions and safety rules are usually not readable. Unless, when opening the bags for cleaning the sewer, we are careful, the painfully aggressive powder has to be dissolved with water in the pipes. In general, powder chemistry must be treated with extreme caution. These include conventional washing powders, bleaches, powders for controlling insects (flies, cockroaches, house ants).
Aerosol cans can be a source of toxic gases. Improper storage of disinfectants and household chemicals can lead to the interaction and chemical reactions of various drugs with the release of substances, toxins and gases hazardous to humans. The consequences that await us with improper storage and use of disinfectants and cleaning chemicals can manifest in the form of dermatitis, allergies and asthma, decreased immunity.
