If your washing machine served you faithfully, but suddenly began to continuously draw and drain water at the same time, do not rush to panic. There can be two reasons for this behavior, and fixing the problem will not require huge cash costs or the disposal of household appliances.

A common situation: a housewife, starting a washing machine, notices that she does not stop collecting water; disconnects the machine from the network, but it still continues to draw water, while also draining it from the hose! Naturally, in such a situation a panic begins: How so? After all, the “washer” always worked properly, and then suddenly it started to “be greedy”. The first thoughts in this situation: “Half the cost of the equipment will take to repair” or “Have to buy a new one”.

No panic! These “symptoms” in a washing machine can have only two reasons:

  • faulty pressure switch (water level sensor);
  • the inlet valve is defective (the inlet valve or, as it is also called, the inlet valve).

The pressure switch determines the water level in the drum by the pressure of the water column, and gives the inlet valve a command to fill the water, if you need to type more.

What could be the reason for the breakdown? The pressure tube of the sensor may become clogged with small debris (if the clothes are too dirty, and even lay somewhere or the rug was thrown to wash, but did not shake it out before) or scale, because of this the pressure switch gives the machine incorrect information. There may also be air leakage in the valves and hoses, which will also lead to incorrect information about the amount of water in the tank. Bottom line: the machine will continuously pour water.

The inlet valve is responsible for the supply of water: when it is enough in the “washing machine” drum, it shuts off the supply; when the machine has drained the used water and you need to type more to rinse, the valve opens for a new stream of clean water. If the machine "swallows" water without stopping, it means that the filling valve is out of order or its walls are weakened, which leads to water leakage.

In general, when identifying one of these problems, you need to call the wizard for a thorough diagnosis. Then he will repair or replace the pressure switch, or replace the valve - depending on what is broken. So that you do not bite your nails in a panic, thinking about the cost of all these procedures, here are approximate prices for new parts that need to be replaced in the machine, and for the manipulations that the master will carry out with these details.

Estimated cost of repairing the pressure switch - from 1400 rubles; intake valve - from 1200 rubles.

The approximate cost of the pressostat itself is from 650 rubles; intake valve - from 390 rubles.

If you do not want to overpay the master for putting his parts, buy them yourself. Consultants in special stores will tell, tell, show you what’s what and why. Of course, the prices of the master’s services will vary (somewhere more, somewhere less) depending on the region, city and campaign. But now you know the approximate prices and see that everything is not as scary as it seemed at first glance.

The main thing - do not use the washing machine until the master brings it to life.
