The joy of installing new plastic windows can be overshadowed by the fact that with the advent of cold weather, it starts to blow. There can be several reasons for this phenomenon, and most of them are associated with improper installation. So why is it blowing from a plastic window?
Causes
The impression that comes through from a plastic window can come about because in severe frost outside the window the glasses are cooled, and with them the air circulating around the window from the inside. To make sure that a plastic window is blowing, you need to light a candle and walk with it along the perimeter of the window, paying special attention to places where the window sash is adjacent to the frame. At the same time, it is not difficult to understand by the nature of the vibration of the flame whether this is really a draft or just a slight vibration of the air. If the window in the opening is not installed correctly, its geometry will be violated and places will appear where the flaps will not fit snugly to the frame. To solve the problem, you have to reinstall the window.
If insufficient warming of the slopes was performed, then it may blow not from the window itself, but from the slot under the windowsill or in the slopes. This problem is easily solved if you dismantle the slopes and foam the frame perimeter, and the window sill also needs additional insulation. Why else can blow out of a plastic window?
