For all its solidity and apparent reliability, the refrigerator is a pretty fragile thing. Therefore, manufacturers recommend transporting the device in an upright position. Then the risk of damage is reduced to zero. But the height of some models, for example, Samsung, exceeds two meters.
Standing transportation requires more serious transport than a personal car with a trailer. You can carefully transport the equipment in a lying position.

- If it was not possible to keep the factory packaging, and the equipment is planned to be transported to a new place, the unit is placed on its side so that the pipe for the refrigerant to exit the compressor is turned upward. - If you connect the refrigerator immediately after lying down, there is a high risk of water hammer due to oil entering the cylinder. Be sure to let the device stand for at least five hours.
- After transportation in the winter, the unit is allowed to stand for about a day before the first connection of the unit to the network. Oil thickened in the cold will warm up, and the condensate formed will evaporate.
- Transportation of the refrigerator on the back wall is acceptable. However, if nothing is mentioned in the manual for the unit, it is better to transport it on its side. Carriage on the rear wall may cause the insulation to break through under the weight of the device.
- It is forbidden to transport a refrigerator on the door: this method leads to its damage.
