It is safe to say that it is almost impossible to find a more beautiful, and most importantly unpretentious and malleable to shearing and grooming tree. Many people appreciate it for its bright saturated color, which persists throughout the year. Thuja perfectly purifies the air, saturating it with oxygen, so it becomes noticeably easier to breathe in the area, the aroma and freshness will be felt even on the hottest day.
The height of the plant can reach 30 meters, while the most common instances do not exceed 12-15 meters. Thuja is a rather profitable plant: after planting it once, you can forget about the design of this site for a long time, a tree can live an average of one hundred years.
An important feature, which, of course, makes the thuja popular in Russia, is high frost resistance and good heat tolerance. In addition, the quality of the soil is practically unimportant for the plant. Well, the excellent tolerance of thuja to conditions of increased gas contamination and smoke makes it simply indispensable for street design in urban conditions or near busy roads.
Care Features
The most important thing is to prevent the thuja from drying out, otherwise the crown will lose its bright color. If groundwater is present on the site, then there should be no problems with providing moisture. If the soil is dry, then immediately after replacing the thuja in place, great attention should be paid to abundant watering, at least 10 liters of water once a week. In a dry, sultry summer, increase the amount of water to 15-20 liters per plant. In the autumn, thawing must also be watered, but with the onset of the first frosts, experts advise covering it with special films.
