First you should cover the floor with oilcloth and newspapers. Then we proceed to washing the ceiling from old lime. To do this, you need a bucket of warm water and a foam roller on a long handle. Wet the roller in water and run it on the ceiling, repeat the procedure. Try not to skip the ceiling, otherwise the new lime will stain. The water in the bucket should be changed as often as possible.

If rusty spots appear on the ceiling (most often they happen if the reinforcement of the building goes too close to the ceiling), then they must be removed. Rinse the problem area with warm water, and then apply copper sulfate to the stain. It is bred as follows: in 1 liter of hot water, 1 tablespoon of vitriol is bred. To prepare the solution, it is necessary to use only enameled dishes. When working, do not neglect safety measures, because this is a toxic drug. Ventilate the room more often.

If the ceiling is heavily smoked, then a 2-3% solution of hydrochloric acid can be used to clean it. When working with such substances, be careful - use special glasses and protective masks.

If grease stains are found on the ceiling, they can be washed off with caustic soda or a warm solution of ordinary laundry soap.

If you have a vacuum cleaner that works on both blowing and blowing, then you can get rid of the old whitewash with it. Put the unit in blowing mode, and with a special nozzle evenly spray water on the ceiling. After this, wait 3-5 minutes for the water to absorb. Then take a scraper and begin to clean off an old covering. After that, the ceiling must be washed with hot water using a roller - as described above.

There are also special solutions for the quick removal of lime, as well as primers that are applied to old whitewash, after which the ceilings can be painted.
