What water to pour in the iron
First of all, it depends on what kind of iron you have. If the device is equipped with a special anti-scale coating, then you can safely substitute it under the tap and, accordingly, draw ordinary water. But simpler models of irons, unfortunately, do not possess such functions. They need only clean water without the presence of any impurities in their composition. Remember that when using low-quality water, the service life of your iron is reduced several times, and sometimes the device may even fail.
Ways to clean water for iron
To make water safe for the iron, install a special liquid purifier in the house. Or buy simple water filters for these purposes, which will cope with the task no worse than more powerful devices. In addition, you can use boiled water from the tap, but doing this too often is not recommended, since various impurities still remain in it, albeit in small quantities.
Bottled purified or distilled water
As mentioned earlier, only purified water should be poured into the iron. And what exactly is the principle of its cleaning? In the removal of all present minerals, salts and other chemical elements. Therefore, if you cannot install special filters at home, use distilled or bottled water. For the production of such water, a special method of iron removal and softening, as well as coarse mechanical filters are used, which makes it absolutely safe even for children, not to mention such a device as an iron. You can buy purified bottled water in a regular store or order in a specialized company. The latter, by the way, is much cheaper.
Water from a well or well
Some owners of private houses believe that the water from the well or well is absolutely clean, especially if the tank for supplying fluid is equipped with a special filter. Accordingly, it is this water that many of them pour into an iron with - absolutely not permissible! In a well or well (even with a filter), particles of harmful trace elements remain. From using such liquid in the iron compartment for pouring water, limescale deposits are guaranteed to remain, which will be very difficult to eliminate in the future. And in general, experts do not recommend drinking water from artificial reservoirs for any domestic purposes, and even more so for drinking.
