The most practical shoes for rainy weather - rubber boots - may one day fail their master. As a rule, breakouts appear on it, soles are ground off or pierced. Usually there is one rubber pair, and it is not always possible to immediately make a new thing or visit a professional shoemaker. Try sticking boots yourself. If you try and do everything right, they will still serve.

Instruction manual
1
Prepare leaking rubber boots for mending. First of all, they must be thoroughly cleaned of all contaminants and completely dried. Then you need to find a suitable patch of rubber. For example, it can be cut from unnecessary rubber shoes or a bicycle tire.
2
Treat the seamy side of the patch and the allowances around the breakthrough on the boot (on the front side) with a file, then go over them with an abrasive wheel or coarse-grained sandpaper. This is necessary to give the surfaces to be bonded some roughness - the glue will grip better.
3
Wipe the rubber insert and the gap with solvent or acetone, dampening a clean rag or cotton swab in a degreasing agent. Be careful not to leave fabric fibers or cotton particles on the surface.
4
Trim the edges of the boot patch so that it is slightly smaller (about a couple of millimeters) of the sanded rough area. Now you can proceed directly to gluing shoes.
5
Use glue for rubber surfaces (such as Super Moment for rubber or Rubber). It is good if you have the opportunity to consult with an experienced shoe maker and buy a professional adhesive composition on his advice.
6
Read the glue manufacturer's instructions and adhere to it exactly. Apply the composition to the patch and the gap area with a thin layer and soak for 10 to 20 minutes (depending on the requirements on the adhesive packaging). Some craftsmen do glue smear twice, both times slightly drying it.
7
Press the bonded surfaces firmly. You can pull the boot on the block or on the log and tap the patch with a hammer. However, be careful that it does not budge. Do not use patched boots earlier than in a day.
Useful advice
If a rubber boot has a punctured sole or heel, try updating it with trimmed nylon tights and a soldering iron. Apply nylon lumps to the sanded and degreased damaged surface and rub it into the hot rubber with a metal rod.
