A random hit with a heavy object - and you're done, the enamel broke off on the sink, instantly spoiling the appearance of the whole room. It is not always possible and desire to change the entire sink, so first you should try to repair the chip yourself.

Using a brush and sandpaper, thoroughly clean the chipped dirt and dust. If rust has appeared inside, it should also be completely removed using a special tool. The cleaner the hole, the more reliable the repair will be, so do not spare your efforts - you can use a corrosive cleaning agent, for example, Sanox, degreasing with baking soda or acetone. It is best to consistently use all available means.

Dry the surface well with a hairdryer. Do not wipe it with rags, sponges or napkins. As a result of such actions, fibers, dust particles can remain, and your work will be wasted.

Take the putty and hardener of a trusted company, mix in the recommended proportions. Some putties are immediately ready for use. You can use a tool for cars or a special restorer for enamel. Gently apply it on the chip, smooth with a spatula. If the chip is deep, it is better to apply the product in two stages. First you should fill it to the middle, wait for drying, and then close the gap with a finish layer. Car putty dries, as a rule, no longer than 30-40 minutes.

When the product is completely dry, sand it with sandpaper. It should be polished until the difference between the enamel and the restored place is felt by the fingers. Then thoroughly clean, degrease and dry the surface.

Then proceed to painting. It is best to choose a special enamel for bathtubs, in an aerosol can, waterproof, high temperature. It is important that the shade matches the color of the sink. In extreme cases, you can find white enamel for the bathtubs and add a suitable color to it. Cover the place of repair layer by layer, with an interval of 1-3 minutes, until it completely disappears and ceases to be noticeable. It is recommended to touch the enamel only after 2 hours, complete drying will occur no earlier than after 2 days, and it is better to postpone the use of the sink for 4 days.

When the enamel dries well, treat the sink with sandpaper "null", you can use felt and polishing abrasive paste. With their help, you can achieve the perfect gloss of the finish layer, without traces of the brush and sandpaper.
