The main cause of pressure loss in the system is a violation of the tightness of the heating circuit. Leaks can be found with a thorough inspection of the heating pipe for moisture. First of all, you need to inspect the places of threaded and flange connections, the joints of pipe soldering and the connection points of radiators. If metal pipes are used in the system, a leak at the longitudinal seam is not ruled out. After detecting a leak, the connection must be repacked, a gasket or packing gland of a greater thickness installed. If the pipe section is damaged, it should be replaced.

Expansion tank malfunction

Often the pressure loss is the result of a malfunction of the expansion tank. This is due to aging and subsequent breakthrough of the membrane or damage to the rubber chamber. Checking the tank for malfunction is quite simple: you need to press the valve of the nipple connection, through which pressure is measured. At the same time, the hiss of exhaust air should be heard. If air does not come out or water comes out instead, the tank is defective and should be replaced. If the boiler has a built-in expansion tank, you can not waste time searching for components. It is easier to plug the tank in the boiler and install the external one in a suitable place.

Air congestion

After each refueling of the heating system, air bleeding should be performed periodically. It can accumulate at the top of radiators and at the highest point in the heating circuit. A one-time descent does not always help: the water from the domestic water supply system is highly saturated with oxygen and gradually displaces it over one or two weeks.
