To remove minor scratches from polished furniture, mix equal amounts of red wine and olive oil. Apply the resulting mixture to damaged areas and leave for a while so that the liquid can be absorbed. Then, using a circular motion with a dry and clean cloth, wipe the treated area.

When repairing deep scratches on furniture, a filler is needed, which is the material with which the furniture is painted. First treat the scratch with alcohol and dry. Next, carefully paint or varnish with a brush, let dry, and then blend. In addition, a wax stick, which is commercially available, can be used as a filler. To work with a wax stick, heat the knife blade and hold it near it so that it heats up. Then gently fill the scratch with wax until it is just above the surface of the furniture. After repairs, allow the patch to dry, cut off any excess with a sharp object (such as a blade) and carefully polish.

To remove white spots left on polished furniture from hot objects, take a piece of paraffin with wax and carefully rub the damaged area. Then cover it with passing paper and press down with a hot iron. Repeat the procedure until the stain completely disappears. After that, wipe the treated area with a cloth.

You can get rid of white spots on the surface of furniture by grinding. To do this, take a metal wool number 000 or 0000, soak in mineral or linseed oil and wipe the stain. Then remove the remaining oil with a clean cloth. To restore the shine of the furniture, take a car paint cleaner and, applying it to the fabric, rub the white spot in a circular motion.
