Instruction manual

1

To plant wisteria, you need to choose the right place, it must be protected from the wind and sunny enough. As for the soil, in this regard, wisteria is not particularly demanding and can grow on almost any land. But it grows better on moderately moist, slightly alkaline, light and nutrient rich soil.

2

Wisteria propagation occurs by layering, seeds, stem and root cuttings. Most often, gardening lovers carry out summer or spring breeding using layering. If you have decided to buy wisteria seedlings of a certain variety for planting, then be sure to make sure that they are well grafted, otherwise you can only see the first and not lush flowering after a few years.

3

Wisteria seeds must be planted in flat pots in spring - early March. The soil for this should consist of one part of sand, four parts of deciduous land and one part of turf land. The seeds of Chinese Wisteria germinate only in complete darkness at a temperature of + 20-25ºC. After 3-4 weeks, you will see the first shoots of wisteria, and after another 1-2 weeks, they can already be put in a bright place. But try to obscure them from the sun.

4

After the wisteria seedlings have two strong leaves, they can be easily dived with a clod of earth, so as not to disturb the root system. Immediately pour the seedlings with a weak solution of potassium permanganate. After the threat of frost has passed, the plant is taken out into the street.

5

Wisteria needs to be cut in the period from March to April. Cut the annual ripened shoots into cuttings, the length of which should be 20-25 centimeters. They are rooted in the soil, consisting of one part of humus, one part of sand, one part of peat and three parts of sod land.

6

Periodically feed the plants, alternating mineral fertilizers and organic. Of the mineral top dressing, Kemira Lux is best suited; of organic dressing, mullein infusion in a ratio of 1:20. A solution of chalk diluted with water (100 grams of chalk per bucket of water) is also added to the soil.

7

Wisteria is planted from the tank in the already fed and fertilized soil in the spring, when the threat of frost passes. For several months, the plant may not show signs of life, the first years go to the growth and formation of long vines, which subsequently become woody and form knotted trunks. Sometimes they reach 20 meters in height and 15 centimeters in diameter.
