The metal bracelet contains an excessive number of links so that it can be fitted under the arm of any diameter. It’s not necessary to go to the workshop for this.

View the strap. It consists of two types of parts: plates, each of which has two transverse slots, and screeds, which are installed in these slots and connect two adjacent plates. The details of the second type after installation are bent from the back of the bracelet.

If you purchased the strap separately from the watch, install it on the watch before fitting it. It is impossible to determine exactly how many links need to be removed. Then put on your watch and see if it hangs. A very small droop is considered normal - which means that the bracelet fits your hand and you do not need to adjust it. If it turned out that the diameter of the strap is much larger than the diameter of the hand, you need to remove one or more links.

To remove the link, bend one tightening piece on both sides, and the adjacent one with only one adjacent to it. Pull out the first one, and it turns out that you can pull out one plate. After that, insert the bent part of the second tightening part into the slot of the remaining plate and bend it again. Perform all operations carefully so as not to scratch the front side of the bracelet and so that sharp edges do not appear on the back side. Be sure to save the removed parts, especially if they are coated with precious metals.

Put on the watch again and decide whether to remove the next link. Always remove them only one at a time, each time trying on a watch. If this rule is not followed, you can inadvertently make the bracelet too tight and uncomfortable to wear. You will want to remove such a watch in a minute, and besides, your hand may leak from it.

If you nevertheless accidentally deleted the extra link, reinstall it in the reverse order. However, after that you will have to come to terms with the fact that the appearance of the bracelet will be a little spoiled.
