Leather jackets and raincoats are out of fashion and time. They are always relevant and suitable for almost everyone. Spring is approaching and it is worth learning how to keep a new thing made of genuine leather so that it maintains its perfect condition for as long as possible.
A new leather item usually has a peculiar smell. But this is not a reason for frustration, but rather the opposite (this is a sign that the skin is genuine, and not a substitute). Over time, the smell will disappear itself. But for the smell to disappear quickly, you need to sprinkle the leather product with ground coffee and leave for a day. Then just shake off the coffee and you can wear a new thing. Important! This method is not suitable for light leather items; coffee may stain them.
Do not store leather goods in polyethylene; they must breathe. You can use special fabric covers for clothes. But it’s best to store the leather item in a dark, cool closet by hanging it on a hanger with wide shoulder pads (to avoid deformation).
If a thing is badly wrinkled and needs to be ironed, then be especially careful. It is permissible to iron a leather product only from the wrong side through a piece of dense fabric. Put the iron on the "wool" mode.
A leather jacket or a raincoat will not hinder from time to time to wipe with glycerin, it will give shine (it is especially useful to wipe the cuffs and collar, because they are most susceptible to abrasion).
Very thin and soft skin can be wiped with a mixture of milk and turpentine (1: 1). Then grease the item with a colorless cream and brush with a shine.
