How to properly care for shoes in wet weather? This question worries, perhaps, anyone who wants shoes to last him as long as possible. Dirt, dust, puddles, high air humidity - all this leads to the fact that in autumn the shoes are constantly exposed to moisture.
General rules for shoe care:
- On the surface of a new shoe, before putting it on for the first time, it is necessary to apply a special product with a water-repellent effect.
- Dirty shoes should be washed under warm water. At the same time, you need to make sure that water does not get inside the shoe, so as not to spoil the insulation layer.
- Clean shoes need to be dried a little, for this, place them for 2-3 hours in a warm place. Do not dry shoes near heating appliances, it is not advisable to use a dryer for drying. This can contribute to rapid drying and shrinkage.
- After drying, it is necessary to clean the shoes using a special shoe brush. Suede shoes can be further treated with fine sandpaper.
- Sufficiently dried shoes need to be treated with shoe cream and put again to dry.
- After the final drying, apply the shoe polish again and begin the polishing process. The main thing to consider is that black cream is used for black skin, and colorless cream for shoes is used for colored skin.
- In winter, if the street is not damp and dirty, it is enough to just shake off the snow upon returning home and wipe the shoes with a dry rag to remove excess moisture.
