Double-sided tape is very convenient in any area of human activity, since it can stick almost any object on any smooth surface for a while. However, such adhesive properties can play a trick on you, since removing double-sided tape after use is quite difficult.

Acrylic adhesive, applied on both sides of the adhesive tape, withstands temperatures up to 80–100ºС, and at high temperatures it becomes soft and easy to remove. Heat the surface with a building or conventional hair dryer. Then take a solvent for acrylic glue, white spirit, bitumen stain cleaner, degreaser, kerosene and remove the sticky layer with unnecessary rags. Please note that any solvent-based products may spoil the lacquered or painted surface (for example, it may become cloudy), so read the instructions on the packaging carefully.

You can also heat the surface with boiling water or hot steam, rinse the surface with hot water or hold over boiling water in a pan. Then gently scrub the softened tape from the surface.

Use gasoline to remove double-sided tape. Take gasoline of high purity, for example, “Zippovskaya” liquid for filling lighters. Apply gasoline with a rag or sponge and rinse off very quickly so as not to damage the paintwork.

Buy a special nozzle for a drill made of rubber, it looks like an eraser and is designed specifically for removing double-sided tape. With it, you can remove traces of glue from surfaces of any size without much effort and harm to the paintwork. Use a glass cleaner to remove tape from the glass surface. First clean off the base with a clerical knife, then wipe with a sponge moistened with a tool.

Carefully remove the sticky layer without damaging the top layer, you can use oil. To do this, take any vegetable oil, generously lubricate the surface and leave until the next day. Then remove the softened adhesive residue with a sponge or rag. This method of cleaning double-sided tape is well suited for varnished surfaces.
