There are basic rules for washing any kind of chiffon:

  • wash only with your hands, as machine wash can damage delicate fabrics;
  • low temperature of washing (no more than 30 ° C).

Further emphasis is placed on the choice of detergent used to remove contaminants from chiffon. It’s worth remembering that chiffon is “afraid” of bleaches and chlorine-added products. It is recommended to use detergents for washing delicate fabrics or baby clothes, having previously dissolved the powder particles in water.

An effective method for cleaning chiffon is a solution of water and dry mustard (3 tablespoons of powder per liter of water). It is enough to dissolve the mustard in warm water and place the dirty thing for 2-3 hours, then rinse thoroughly in cool water.

Wash chiffon

When choosing a machine wash chiffon products, you should be careful and special mode at a minimum temperature and revolutions during the spin cycle. First, put a blouse or dress made of delicate chiffon in a laundry bag (or replace it with a regular cotton pillowcase). In this form, gently squeeze the bag, eliminating strong friction and twisting of the fabric.

After washing, remove clothes from the bag and squeeze soapy water slightly. Then rinse repeatedly until the foam disappears completely. It is recommended that you add a small amount of conditioner or table vinegar to the water.

Drying process

Chiffon clothes dry quickly enough, after all the water has drained, it becomes almost dry. To prevent strong wrinkles, you should straighten the product on a horizontal surface or hang on the shoulders, as even slight bends and the use of clothespins will lead to the formation of creases and ugly traces, which can be difficult to get rid of. It should be ensured that there are no heating appliances and direct sunlight in the vicinity, which negatively affect the properties and appearance of the chiffon.
