Washing the down jacket today does not cause any difficulties. Many housewives have adapted to wash this type of clothing in a washing machine with tennis balls. And you can do this in normal mode with a spin. But washing a down jacket with fur trim as a decoration raises many questions. Natural fur is stretched in the wet state before sewing. Therefore, if it is wet again, it "dubs" and becomes brittle.
But, as practice shows, the above fear is true for fur coats and hats. And a thin strip of fur trim made of fox, mink or tsigeyki perfectly transfers washing in the machine. It is important to take into account some subtleties:
- wash delicately at a temperature of 30 degrees;
- use liquid detergent when washing;
- comb the long fur with a wet comb with rare teeth, and the short fur with a massage brush (you can brush it for animals);
- dry away from heating pipes.
Modern manufacturers produce many different liquid detergents. There are even special ones for fur. If you couldn’t buy something like this, a shampoo or liquid soap is quite suitable. In any case, it is better than powder. It is recommended to add more conditioner when rinsing than for other clothes.
When drying, you should not rush the natural process, helping by pressing with your hands, wiping with a towel, etc. I must say that the result also depends on the quality of the fur. Good fur after washing does not climb and does not deform.
