Jacquard fabrics acquire special relief and bulk in the process of complex weaving of threads. Jacquard yarn can be either natural - cotton, linen, silk, wool, or faux - polyester.
Jacquard is very strong and durable, resistant to abrasion and stretching precisely due to the special interweaving of threads. If these threads are silk thin, the fabric turns out to be soft and cool. But if the jacquard is made of thick linen yarn, the fabric acquires the heaviness and density that are so needed when sewing night curtains.
How to care for jacquard curtains
For all its strength, the jacquard does not tolerate carelessness, as it can be deformed if it is improperly washed and dried. You can give the jacquard curtains for cleaning if you are not confident in your abilities. Those who are not afraid of difficulties should take note of the following rules when leaving for jacquard fabrics.
It is possible to wash a cloth with jacquard weaving both manually and in a washing machine with gentle operation and temperature up to 30 ° C. Choose a neutral powder. Do not use chemical cleaners to clean the jacquard.
Jacquard curtains can not be bleached and wrung out by twisting. It is better to dry such a cloth in the fresh air, but in the shade, preventing direct sunlight from getting on a wet cloth. When drying a house, do not hang wet jacquard near heaters and radiators. If the fabric dries unevenly, deformation of the weave structure is possible. In this case, the curtains will lose their presentable appearance.
If you wash the jacquard curtains by hand, use ordinary soap - without active dye and strong fragrances. The dried jacquard fabric needs to be ironed from the wrong side, setting the average temperature, if the fabric contains synthetics.
