The connection of cast-iron and plastic sewer pipes can be carried out in several ways, it all depends on where the connection is made, what is the size of the connected pipes and another.
Easy docking and docking with an adapter
In the event that after removing the old cast-iron pipe, a cuff with a flat inner surface remains, you can apply a simple joining method using a special seal. In this case, the plastic pipe is inserted into the pipe made of cast iron 3-8 cm. The life of such a connection can be 8 years. Before performing work, the bell is cleaned of dirt and rust, the outer side of the cuff is treated with sealant, the rubber adapter is inserted into the bell from cast iron and, by the final step, the cuff is inserted into the sewer pipe.
In case you have to deal with a pipe without a bell, you will need a plastic adapter. To carry out the installation, part of the cast-iron pipe must be cut off with a grinder in order to align the edges, put on a rubber adapter on top, treat the edges with sealant and finish joining with a plastic adapter, also previously treated with sealant.
