Remove all furniture from the room. If this cannot be done for one reason or another, cover it with oilcloth. Put newspapers on the floor. In this case, all the debris that crumbles from the ceiling will remain on spread paper. Then put on rubber gloves. Remove all lighting fixtures from the ceiling and turn off the electricity.

Pour warm water into a bucket or basin. You can also use a special soap solution. For 10 liters of warm water, take 5 tablespoons of baking soda and 3 tablespoons of washing powder or liquid soap. Then stir until the drugs are completely dissolved.

Choose a ladder on which it will be convenient for you to work. It is desirable that it be with a shelf. Then you can put a bucket of water on it, which will greatly facilitate the process. For safety reasons, try not to start cleaning the ceiling yourself.

Moisten the foam rubber roller on the long handle in liquid and slide it over the ceiling. For hard to reach areas, use a brush. If the whitewash is thick enough, treat gradually. So the result of work will be better visible. Try to change the water as often as possible.

If whitewashing has not been washed off for many years, use a metal spatula. Pre-soften the whitewash to make it easier to remove. Spray water on the ceiling and wait a few minutes. Then repeat the procedure again. Only after that scrape off the whitewash with a spatula. If after treatment there are small areas of white, rinse them with a damp foam roller.

Remove old whitewash with a paste. Apply the product over the entire ceiling area and leave for a while. When the paste has dried, scrape off the white with a metal spatula. This method will help to avoid a large amount of dirt and dust.
