A clothes hanger can become not only a functional device, but also an important design element. The exclusive thing will fit perfectly into the current man-made interior, whether it be capri, retro or catchy high-tech. Crafts from improvised means will both surprise guests at home and give new life to old unnecessary things.

If you still have old unnecessary chairs, you can borrow the experience of fashion designer Antonello Fuse. Measure the upper part of the backrest of the desired height and make a neat cut with a hacksaw. In the middle of a makeshift hanger, fasten the metal hook from the old clothes hanger or buy a new one at the hardware store.

Thoroughly clean the bottom cut of the workpiece with sandpaper - first with a larger grain size, then with finishing sandpaper No. 1000. Coat the treated wood with colorless varnish or paint in the tone of the former chair. You can pick up a plastic profile of the appropriate size and color in the construction department and put it on carpentry glue. Now the new coat hanger will not scratch the fabric.

Please note that the shape of the back of the chair will directly depend on the functionality of the hanger. Models with horizontal slats can be used for outerwear and trousers. If the chair had vertical crossbars, a new device would be suitable for storing men's ties, belts, scarves and scarves. The style of execution of old furniture will also affect the design of the new accessory. So, twisted wooden chairs will turn into a hanger in retro style, and universal straight backs are suitable for any interior.

If after repair you still have carpentry waste, you can make a stylish hanger for a hall in a "rustic" style (country) from them. For the basics of crafts you need a croaker (side of the log). Optimum sizes - 50 cm in length and 10-15 in width. For clamps, pick up dry branches with a diameter of 3 cm and cut them along the length of 7 cm.

Attach the clips to the base in random order by pressing them onto the glue. To do this, sand the workpieces and remove all dirt from the surfaces to be glued. Degrease wood with a cotton swab and acetone and allow to dry completely. Apply hot wood glue: for soft wood (linden, pine) it should be liquid, for hard (beech, oak, birch) - more thick. Bring the workpieces to each other and press the clamp. Soak each piece to be glued under the press for 24 hours. Cover the finished product with varnish or stain.
Useful advice
If you want to strengthen the hanger from the slab and knots with screws or nails, do it immediately after gluing the parts. Only after this proceed with pressing in the clamp.
