New facades must exactly match the old in size and be designed for the same type of door hinges. When choosing a material, one must proceed not only from considerations of an aesthetic appearance, but also from financial possibilities. The most practical will be the facades of MDF, you can choose frame, with the insertion of stained-glass windows or display windows. You will also need to purchase accessories: usually, handles, hinges, pneumatic struts and closers are to be replaced with the curtain wall.

If it is planned to change the hinge attachment, milling can be done to install accessories on swing doors in any place. This can be done at the factory for the manufacture of facades, you can also do the work yourself. Making grooves with your own hands can not be avoided if the fastenings on the furniture body do not change.
To perform the milling correctly, you need to put on the back side of the door marks the location of the door hinge fasteners. The center of the hole is located at a distance of 22 mm from the side edge of the canvas. You can drill slots using a Forstner drill with depth gauge. A loop hinge is inserted into the hole made and screwed with two or three screws. After that, the door is hung in place, fixing the tails of the hinges on the mating mounts. Installing facades on drawers is also not particularly difficult. Before removing the old facade, it is necessary to measure the lateral and vertical distances from the edge to the outer walls of the box. These dimensions are transferred to the new facade. Fastening can be carried out using dowels: in this case, grooves are drilled in the canvas of the facade, wooden or plastic fasteners are installed on glue, the attachment points are transferred to the ends of the drawer, where holes for installation are also drilled. If the box has a double front wall, then the facade is fastened with screws that are screwed in from the inside.

To install the handles on the back, you need to draw a longitudinal line of 20-40 mm from the outer edge. Risks are applied along this line, which indicate the axial distance between the handle mounts. Drill holes with a smooth feed of the drill, while the external surface at the exit can be sealed with masking tape so as not to spoil the decorative surface of the facade with chips and cracks.
Closers and air racks are installed with open doors. Help will be needed here: one person holds the door, and the second installs the fittings. First, the auxiliary elements are attached to the door leaf, then to the furniture body, while the pneumatic racks do not need to be forced to compress.

If the Forstner drill does not have a depth gauge, you should practice the same thickness on the rough section of a chipboard or MDF as the facade canvas. You can also apply a visual stop using PVC adhesive tape or a white corrector.
Useful advice
The installation of swing doors is best done gradually: remove one pair, transfer marks and install new ones. If you need to remove all the facades at once, it is better to number them on the sections of the kitchen. Before installing frame facades, it is better to remove glass or mirrors from them.
