Painting walls is an operation so famous that for many this process seems too simple. And who didn’t have to hold a brush with a roller in their hand - almost all of us are masters and artists in our hearts. At the same time, for another group of people to paint the wall is a difficult task.
What to paint?
To begin with, it is worth deciding on the choice of paint. The construction market of our days is replete with all kinds of decorative wall coverings. There are acrylic, water emulsion, oil and alkyd materials.
Each paintwork has a number of characteristics. These characteristics are hiding power (the ability of a material to cover a certain area with color), consumption, resistance to abrasion, washing and wet cleaning, use for indoor or outdoor use, drying time, type of diluent and others.
The most convenient in work and further service are water-borne acrylic paints. Their main advantage is that in the process of work it is not necessary to use organic solvents, such as uyat spirit, nefras, acetone. Only clean water is required to dilute and rinse the instrument.
A more specific type of paint is selected depending on the room conditions in which the coating will be used. For the kitchen, you should choose acrylic washable paint. It is important to know that some paints form a surface that is resistant only to wet cleaning, while those that are resistant to washing. Wet cleaning means wiping with a damp (but not wet) cloth or a special sponge. In the bathroom or toilet, it is worth using a paint and varnish material suitable specifically for such rooms.
In the process of painting you will need a tool - a bath (tray) for paint, rollers and brushes, masking tape, putty knife, construction knife. Some paint types require a spray gun. For decorating large areas, it is reasonable to use a wide roller, for structural and exclusive options - rollers of special shapes.
