What tools and devices are best used?

For cleaning and washing glassware, it is better to use soft, non-abrasive products. At the same time, the surface is not damaged, the pattern is not overwritten from the patterns that are easily erased by abrasives. You should resort to abrasive, harsh cleaning products only in extreme cases when the dirt, as they say, must be scraped off and scraped off.

Do not use washing powder. It is better to use liquid foaming detergents, gels or pastes, whose assortment is huge.

You can wash the dishes with ordinary soap, but it is better if the soap is odorless. When rinsing in this case, it is better to add a little vinegar or ammonia to the water, this will add shine and relieve the surface of the washed dishes from soapy deposits.

Metal brushes and wire sponges are not suitable for glassware. It is better to use kitchen foam sponges and soft rags.

What water is better to wash?

Glassware (with the exception of crystal and earthenware) is washed in hot or almost hot water (50-60 degrees Celsius). Fats do not dissolve in cold water and plaque remains, poorly show their cleaning abilities and dishwashing detergents.

Crystal and faience are washed in warm water (25 - 35 degrees). Hot water has an adverse effect on dishes made of these materials: the crystal may darken, and the glaze on earthenware may become covered with a network of microcracks.

If only cold water is at hand, it is advisable to use dishwashing detergents designed for cold water. This information can be read on the label.

Glass dishes stained with mayonnaise, grease, oil, can be perfectly cleaned with dry mustard. To clean sweets or stains will help coffee grounds.

Dried dishes made from dough, milk or raw eggs should not be "scrubbed" with a tough "brush". You can fill it with hot water with a detergent, dry mustard or baking soda, and then wash it well, freeing the walls from the dried layer of food.

The dishes washed with cleaning agents should be rinsed in running water in order to wash off the remnants of chemicals.

Gloss and transparency

You can also dry glassware on the dryer in an upright position. But for crystal and glass to become vibrant, it is better to wipe them with a soft cotton towel to dryness.

To enhance shine and transparency, you can rinse the dishes with water with vinegar and / or salt, then ordinary, clean running water.

So that the crystal regains its luster and radiance, after washing it is wiped with a soft (preferably woolen) cloth, which was dipped in starch with the addition of blue. This is especially true of large crystal or glass vases, large dishes, "slides", salad bowls and souvenirs.

Glasses, decanters and bottles

Bottles and decanters can be washed with the help of a special brush, which easily passes into a narrow neck. If there is no brush, you can boil raw potatoes (with or without peel), pour into a vessel, add vinegar and salt, and shake well, then rinse.

To wash glasses and decanters easily with warm water with vinegar and salt, or - with water with baking soda.

To serve glasses for a long time, they can be tempered. To do this, place the glasses in a pan with water, dividing the contacting surfaces with sheets of paper. The pot is put on fire, boiled for about 5 minutes. Then, without removing the glasses from the water, allow to cool, remove and dry. Such glasses are more durable, and the risk that the glass will “crack” at the most inopportune moment will be minimized.

If the glasses are stuck in each other, do not separate them, applying force - you can break it, especially if the glasses have thin walls. It is better to put the “mating” glasses in cold water and wait, then disconnect. You can also put pieces of ice in the glass that is inside another, and the glass will be easy to remove.
