Drying fruits, vegetables, mushrooms and berries is so troublesome. For example, insects can spoil homemade blanks. In order not to encounter a disappointing result, it is better to make a home-made dryer: in it, the workpieces will be reliably protected.

You will need

  • - plywood sheet;

  • - a hacksaw;

  • - roulette;

  • - a pencil;

  • - sandpaper;

  • - hammer;

  • - nails;

  • - grid;

  • - wire;

  • - fan;

  • - electric motor;

  • - polymer film;

  • - scissors or a knife.

Instruction manual

1

Put together a plywood box (its dimensions: 600x800x400 millimeters). But first, mark up the plywood sheet. After that, cut out the individual elements of the future dryer with a hacksaw (cut strictly along the outlined lines).

2

Using the nails and a hammer, connect the elements of the drying box. After the housing is assembled, fasten a fine metal mesh at the bottom of the drying chamber.

3

Using a wire, fasten the electric motor with a fan on the mesh bottom. The engine to be installed should be compact and run on a 220 V network. By the way, the electric motor can be taken from an old player.

4

Following this, it is necessary to collect trays on which fruits, vegetables, mushrooms and berries will be laid out. To do this, you need a polymer mesh and wooden slats with a cross section of 30x45x50 millimeters. Cut the slats to the required dimensions (cut at an angle of 45 degrees) and use emery paper to clean the burrs.

5

On the perimeter of each tray, select a quarter (that is, it turns out on both sides of the rail). This must be done to tightly install the trays on top of each other.

6

Mark future grooves with wooden pencils on wooden slats. Using a plane or chisel, as well as a hammer, select the groove. After that, grind the sampling plane using emery paper.

7

Chuck the tray frame with nails. Then pull the protective polymer mesh and secure it to the tray using the staples and stapler. Cut off excess mesh edges with a sharp knife or scissors.

note

Do not leave fruits, berries, vegetables or mushrooms for a long time in the drying chamber. Three to four days after drying the gifts of nature, expose them to the sun or dry them in the oven.

Useful advice

If there is no particular desire to make a drying chamber with your own hands, you can buy a dryer.
