The danger of washing a fur product is that water and detergent can affect the fur base - mezdra. Depending on the quality of the fur dress and the wear period of the product, it may creep or break.

Try to protect your fur product and not expose it to excessive moisture. Furriers recommend avoiding getting wet under precipitation altogether.

To wash a product from natural fur at home, first check the strength of the mezdra. Make a solution of 50 ml of warm water, 1 drop of detergent and 2 drops of ammonia. Apply the resulting composition one drop at a time to different areas of the mezra. After it is absorbed into the skin, gently pull it. If you feel that the elasticity of the skin is broken and it may break, then the product cannot be washed.

Peel the fur without using water in potato starch. Sprinkle starch into the fur evenly. Handle the fur well with your hands to ensure uniform starch penetration. Then spray the product with a warm aqueous solution of shampoo and spray it with your hands again. When the fur becomes dry, brush it and comb it.

It should be noted that cleaning the fur from bulk solids will take time, but at the same time, deep cleaning of the pile occurs. In many cases, this is much more effective than conventional dry cleaning.

For washing natural fur, you can use wood chips. The cleaning principle is no different from potato starch processing. But here it is important to consider that resin can be present in coniferous sawdust, therefore, birch or aspen sawdust are more suitable for this purpose.

Perfectly clean natural fur and ordinary bran. Sprinkle small areas of fur with them and massage the fur thoroughly with your hands, as you would with normal washing.

Natural fur can also be cleaned with semolina. In this case, the decoy should be used until it ceases to become dirty. Comb the fur so that the whole groats spill out. Treat light fur with baby powder or talcum powder.

Dry hot sand is an effective cleaner for beaver or otter fur. Lay the product on a flat surface, sprinkle with sand, massage with your hands. Pour clean sand until the product is clean.
Useful advice
Shake wet and natural fur and dry it horizontally unfolded away from heaters. When it dries, comb it with a special comb.
