A vase with a thin neck looks elegant and delicate, but it gives the hostess a lot of trouble. For example, if flowers were standing in it for a long time, a slippery coating formed on the walls, which is difficult to wash with a simple shaking of water with a detergent. There are several ways to wash a narrow-necked vase.

You will need

  • - groats;

  • - paper;

  • - dishwashing liquid;

  • - soda;

  • - vinegar;

  • - a means for washing toilets, sinks and bathtubs;

  • - tablets for cleaning dentures;

  • - a brush for washing dishes.

Instruction manual

1

Pour a handful of hard coarse grains, such as pearl barley or oats, into the vase, add a few drops of a cleaning agent that foams well, and a little water. Close the neck with your hand or a rolled-up napkin and start shaking in all directions. Solid cereal in combination with soap foam well cleans the walls of the vessel from any deposits and contamination, the vase will shine like new. Instead of cereals, you can take another abrasive, for example, fine river sand, crumbled eggshell (it gives shine to the glass surface).

2

Try to remove plaque with pieces of newspaper. Pull the newspaper into small pieces, crumple them and throw them into a vase. Close the neck and twist it up and down, left and right, in a circle. Then put under a strong stream of water, wait until all pieces of paper come out. In this way, slippery deposits can be removed after plants or various fluids.

3

Try a dishwashing brush. Its wire tip can be bent at any angle, and it will reach any inaccessible place of the vase. The effect will be more noticeable if you add a few drops of dishwashing detergent and hot water to the vase.

4

To wash off old dirt, it is better to pour hot water with a detergent in a vase in advance. Water with the addition of vinegar allows you to get rid of scale and white plaque, gives shine to the crystal. Soda helps remove unpleasant odors. If you add a little potassium permanganate to the water, the crystal will acquire a golden hue.

5

To clean up heavy contaminants, try using chemicals. For example, tablets for cleaning dentures are very effective and safe, they should be poured with water in a vase and left overnight. Take one tablet on a small vessel, two on a medium, and three on a large. Such a tool can also be used for dishes in which food products are stored - jugs for milk, wine, fruit drinks.

6

Even more effective are detergents for washing toilets, bathtubs and sinks, which remove rust and limescale. It is necessary to fill the vase by a third, then gently rotate it so that all the walls inside are covered with the product. After 20 minutes, it will be possible to rinse the container well with water. This method is suitable only for decorative and flower vases; food products cannot be stored in them after washing.

note

Please note that sand may scratch the glass surface.
