The times when the summer resident tried to plant every free patch of land on his plot with vegetable crops or flowers, are in the past. Now gardeners consider it a common thing if there is a lawn in the country. It pleases the eye, gives aesthetic pleasure, in the end, blends harmoniously into the relaxation area. However, in order to first arrange a beautiful lawn, and then maintain it in good condition, it is necessary to make considerable efforts.

1

At the very end of winter or the beginning of spring, when it is already obvious that there will be no more heavy snowfalls and the melting of snow is about to begin, go to your summer cottage. Arm yourself with a shovel-scraper and try to more or less evenly distribute the snow over the entire area of the garden plot where your lawn is located. Because if there is a snowdrift somewhere, then much more water forms during thawing, and this piece of lawn will be too wet. And this is undesirable for some plants, even lawn.

2

When the snow melts completely and the earth dries out a bit, be sure to feed the lawn with complex fertilizer containing nitrogen. Best in liquid form. Ammonia fertilizers are necessary in order to restore the productive forces of the soil, to feed it with trace elements after winter.

3

After some time, when the earth ceases to be viscous, take a rake (preferably a fan) and carefully clean the lawn area from last year's bale of foliage and the resulting dry grass, as well as garbage. If this is not done, the grass on the lawn will grow worse, and its appearance will be very far from perfect.

4

Carefully inspect the entire lawn area. You will surely find places where the turf layer is spoiled. That is, in summer, bald spots form on a continuous grass carpet. Before summer, this needs to be fixed. Put a little loose earth in these places, slightly compact and sow the seeds. If the day is cloudy, cool - you can water these places immediately. If sunny, warm - wait for the evening and only then water. For irrigation, it is better to use settled water, you can add complex fertilizer to it. As a rule, such a "restoration" gives quite satisfactory results; the lawn will be restored.
