Over time, copper products become stained, plaque, soot, acquire a dull ugly appearance. There are a considerable number of ways to clean the surface of copper at home.

To clean the copper candlesticks, take table vinegar and pour it on the candlesticks, then sprinkle them with salt, start rubbing the ingredients well into the copper with a rag or cloth. Rub the candlesticks until the product gets rid of stains and soot. Then rinse objects under clean water and polish well with a soft, dry cloth.

Pour one glass of white vinegar into a large pan and add one tablespoon of salt to it, then fill the pan with water and put on a slow fire. Put the copper candlestick in the pan and bring to a boil. Continue to boil the object in a mixture of vinegar, water and salt until the stains begin to recede, then wash the candlestick with soap in cold water and dry.

Take a lemon and cut it into two halves. Rub a half of the lemon on the surface of the copper candlestick, all plaque should disappear. Rinse the candlestick well with cold water and pat dry with a clean cloth.

Take a small bowl and squeeze the juice from one lemon into it, then add so much salt to the lemon juice so that a fairly thick paste forms. Take a sponge or soft cloth and use it to rub the copper candlesticks with the resulting paste. Rub until the plaque is completely removed from the copper surface, then rinse the candlesticks with cold water and dry.

Take a small bowl and pour one glass of white vinegar into it, then add one tablespoon of salt to it, stir the ingredients, gradually adding 1-2 tablespoons of flour to them. Cover the paste with copper candlesticks and rub it into the places where there is plaque. Leave the vinegar, salt and flour paste to soak into the surface of the copper for 20-40 minutes, then rinse with warm water and polish the candlesticks.

Useful advice
So that copper candlesticks do not have to be polished, do not forget to look after them, because copper is a metal rather whimsical. Wipe the dust off the candlesticks in a timely manner with special wipes or a damp cloth.
If your candlesticks have a varnished coating, be sure to wash them only in soapy water, and then carefully dry them with a paper towel, polishing such candlesticks is not worth it, otherwise the protective coating will peel off.
