Every house should have a humidifier, because this device is simply irreplaceable, especially in the winter. And it will not be difficult to repair its malfunction, since the cause of the breakdown can be quite simple.
When the period of the active heating season begins, in many houses it is sometimes simply impossible to be without an ajar window. The fact is that in such conditions, and even with dry air, the risk of infections increases, which entails negative consequences.
Therefore, in houses with a high level of thermal insulation and an active heating system, air humidifiers have to be used. This equipment is really necessary and in demand, however, it is not always possible to purchase high-quality goods, which can serve faithfully for more than one year.
How to fix a humidifier yourself
If you have a humidifier, but recently it began to malfunction or completely stopped working, then this problem can be solved in two ways:
- call the master and pay a certain amount;
- following the recommendations, try to repair the humidifier with your own hands.
To better understand the principle of operation of an air humidifier, you need to understand its configuration. This equipment traditionally consists of a drive roller, a water tank, special blinds, a control panel, a water level indicator, an engine and a centrifugal fan, as well as a power cord with a filter.
The humidifier can work in different ways, it all depends on the type of device and the method of humidification. However, malfunctions in the operation of the device may be the same for different models. If you feel an unpleasant odor that comes directly from the device, you should check the membrane. It is possible that it has become contaminated, so this problem can be eliminated easily and simply.
First you need to disconnect the humidifier from the network, unscrew all the fixing screws or open the rear panel. Next, remove the plastic rod and unplug the power cord from the drive motor. After that, you need to remove the upper roller, then the membrane will easily disconnect.
It is better to wash the membrane in soapy water, thoroughly cleaning it. After cleaning, let the membrane dry for a while.
