Hydrangea is recommended to be replanted annually for better flowering, each time replacing the soil in the pot. It should be fertile, not sandy, and good drainage should be provided in the pot. This flower prefers acidic soils to everyone else and will not grow in alkaline. On poor, sandy soils, growth will slow down and there will most likely be no flowering. For the indoor hydrangea content, choose a wide pot of small depth, since the root hydrangea system is fibrous and superficial. It will be necessary to transplant the plant immediately if purchased in a store. Hydrangea is very often affected by a flour worm, and the fact of its presence must be excluded by revising the roots immediately after buying the plant. A special soil for azaleas is suitable for transplantation, and expanded clay balls should be used as a drainage layer.

A planned transplant is carried out in early spring, until a period of active growth has begun. Before transplanting, choose a suitable pot, 1-2 cm in diameter larger than the previous one, and dry the soil of the transplanted hydrangea for 3-4 days. Then, newspapers, polyethylene or paper are spread on a work surface, a wide windowsill, table or directly on the floor, so that later it can easily collect all the spilled soil. A pot with a plant is placed in the center of the place prepared for transplantation and gently take hydrangea for the base of the trunk. At the same time, the pot is tilted, removing the plant along with a lump of earth. If for some reason hydrangea remains in the pot, you need to separate the earth from its walls. To do this, put the pot on its side and lightly tapping the side walls to help extract the plant. You can use the same thin ruler or knife for this, carefully inserting them between the earthen lump and the edge of the pot and conducting in a circle.

After extracting hydrangea from an old pot, you can not shake the ground from its roots. If hydrangea is bought in a store and the roots need to be checked, it is placed in a basin with water and very carefully washed off the ground from the root system. With a planned hydrangea transplant, it is transferred to a new pot along with a lump of earth from the old one, unless the dry earth has crumbled itself. A drainage layer of at least 3 cm thick is laid at the bottom of the new pot, and a layer of chopped sphagnum or neutral peat is sometimes placed on it. Soil is poured onto peat with a layer of about 1 cm and an earthen lump with hydrangea is set in the center. After this, holding the flower by the base of the stem, you can fill the ground to the desired level. In this case, hydrangea should not be deepened more than before, from this its stem can rot. The land after planting should never be tamped with your hands, this can damage the roots of the flower. Hydrangea is sprayed and placed in a constant place, starting from the next day, gradually watered.
