At the end of winter, a sheepskin coat is usually taken for storage. But before that, it needs to be cleaned of stains and street dirt. You can independently cope with this problem or contact a dry cleaning service.

You will need

Shampoo, ammonia, glycerin, borax, potato starch, peeled gasoline, special cleanser, rubber brush, stationery eraser.

Instruction manual

1

Pour warm water into a separate container, add shampoo or liquid soap. Spread the sheepskin coat on the table and thoroughly clean it with a foam sponge dipped in soapy water. Then wipe the tanned skin with a damp cloth. Hang clothes on hangers and dry them away from radiators. This method can only clean minor contaminants.

2

In a liter of water, mix 40 ml of ammonia and glycerin, 10 g of borax. Dampen a microfiber cloth in the resulting solution and treat contaminated clothing. Rinse your sheepskin coat with a damp foam sponge and pat it with a cotton towel. Dry the product at room temperature.

3

Use potato starch or baby powder. These substances have a porous structure, so they absorb pollution. Lay the clothes on a flat surface and sprinkle evenly with adsorbent. Then take a brush and thoroughly clean the sheepskin coat. Remove the powder with a car vacuum cleaner.

4

Buy refined gas at a hardware or hardware store. Mix the solvent with potato starch to make a slurry. Put the mass on a dirty place and leave for several hours. When the gasoline has completely eroded, brush off the starch.

5

Use special products to clean tanned skin. Acquire these products only in branded stores of leather and fur to avoid buying low-quality goods. The foamy detergents contained in the product effectively clean tanned skin. After cleaning, treat the product with a water-repellent spray.

6

Clean your sheepskin coat with a rubber brush for nubuck and suede. With it, you can remove stains of various origins. If you need to clean clothes urgently, and there is no special brush at hand, use a stationery eraser.

note

Before using this or that remedy, make sure that it does not damage tanned skin. To do this, apply a small amount of the drug on the wrong side or other inconspicuous place. Wait a while, but not more than half an hour. If during this period the color and structure of the material have not changed, continue cleaning.
