Modern irons with Teflon soles practically do not need constant care and cleaning. But even on the soles of the most expensive models, spots can form that will not allow things to be ironed normally. In addition, contamination can cause tissue damage. Clean the Teflon sole of the iron with simple recommendations.

You will need

  • - chemical pencil for cleaning the iron;

  • - a cloth;

  • - table vinegar;

  • - ammonia;

  • - a tablet of hydroperite.

Instruction manual

1

In hardware stores you can buy a special chemical pencil, which is suitable for cleaning any surfaces of irons. First of all, you need to turn on the iron and warm it up thoroughly, then unplug it and rub the Teflon sole with a pencil. Then a chemical reaction starts, after which dirt and scale are easily removed using a regular soft cloth. Substances released during the reaction are absolutely safe for health. Unpleasant odor is only a consequence of the release of ammonia vapor.

2

If you don’t have a special pencil for cleaning the iron, you can use table vinegar. Take a waffle towel (or a small length from it) and soak in vinegar. Now gently rub the sole of the iron. Note that the device must not be plugged in. To get a good result, you can make a solution (in equal proportions) of liquid ammonia and vinegar, with which you need to wipe the sole of the iron. If the contamination is not completely removed, heat the iron and iron the towel soaked in the prepared solution. This cleaning is recommended on the balcony or by the open window. Do not forget to ventilate the room.

3

Use a hydroperite tablet to clean the Teflon sole of the iron. It is recommended to carry out this procedure on a loggia or in a well-ventilated room to avoid a pungent odor. Turn on the iron and heat to maximum temperature, then gently slide a hydroperit tablet on the soiled sole (carefully so as not to burn yourself), and gas will start to release strongly. Finally, wipe the cooled Teflon sole of the iron with a damp cloth, remove the remaining tablets. Dry the iron with a soft, lint-free cloth.
