Many specialists in the construction field simply can not imagine repair without the use of a gun for polyurethane foam. With the help of this device material consumption is significantly reduced and the pouring accuracy is increased. However, pistols have a significant drawback - they are difficult to clean, and it is almost impossible to remove dried foam.

If you are sure that you will be working with a gun for two weeks from the date of the last use, then you can not clean it at all, but simply leave the used foam can on it screwed down. If you remove the spray can, the gun will dry.

Clean before and after work

To clean the mounting gun, it is recommended to rinse it with a special solution, which is sold packaged in cylinders. To do this, remove the can of foam, screw the can of cleaning fluid. After that, substitute a bucket or other container where liquid will flow from the gun, and gently press the hook for 3-5 seconds.

Wipe the edge of the mounting gun with a rag, wait 5-10 minutes, and then press the hook again for 5-10 seconds. And so on, until the tank for cleaning is used up completely. Then unscrew the bottle, shake the remaining fluid from the barrel. The gun is clean and ready for storage and further work.

Dry cleaning

The dried foam can be cleaned with an acetone-based solvent or mineral spirits, as well as using the same cleaning fluid. Carefully cut off the dried foam from the barrel of the gun and the hole where the spray can is connected. Then pour solvent into these holes and wait 10-15 minutes. Keep solvent away from the plastic parts of the gun. Clean the nozzles with a thin needle, it is almost impossible to wash them with a solvent.
