Polyurethane foam has many positive properties, it is a good insulation, but if its excess is not removed immediately, problems can arise. Firstly, the influx of frozen foam will undoubtedly spoil the appearance of the door, and secondly - it will cause a lot of trouble to its owners, since removing the remaining foam is not so simple.
You will need
- - metal brush
- - a scraper, knife or razor blade,
- - protective gloves and a face mask,
- - a chemical agent for cleaning the surface of dried foam,
- - cleaning wipes,
- - acetone.

Use a wire brush to sand the surface of the remaining foam. Use it carefully, try not to touch the surface of the door, so as not to scratch it.

Treat the stain with a scraper. Put gloves and a mask on your face, then use a special cleanser.

If the spot is small, use a razor blade, not a knife.

Treat painted or varnished surfaces with even greater caution. The tool can react with substances that make up the coating of the door surface. Therefore, first check the effect of the reagent on an inconspicuous portion of the door.

Remove fresh and not yet had time to harden foam flows with acetone. But remember that the plastic surface of acetone is more likely to hurt.

If the appearance of the door does not matter to you, then carefully remove the maximum portion of the mounting foam with a knife.
Useful advice
Typically, firms that produce sealants such as polyurethane foam, and produce means of disposing of them. Apply the substance to the dried treated stain and leave it to interact for about 10-15 minutes.
Be careful that the chemical solution should never get on unprotected skin of the hands. If everything is done correctly, the stain can be easily removed with a napkin. This method is suitable if any coating is subsequently applied to the door surface.
