Lime deposits in water not only make it hard - when boiling, substances settle inside the kettle, forming scale on the walls. Scale will form on it less or more often, depending on the material of the kettle.

In a kettle made of stainless steel, limescale forms more slowly. But it still cannot be completely avoided. Limescale slows the process of boiling water, and if the kettle is electric, then a lot of electricity is consumed. Deposits can harm not only the teapot, but also the person who drinks the water boiled in it. Filters mounted on the nose help little in solving the problem.
Limescale Prevention
The best way to fight the scum is to prevent it from forming at all. The rules that must be followed for this are quite simple. For boiling, you need to use soft and clean water, passed through a filter or settled. Boil a portion of water once. Water that has already boiled should not be heated - it is better to replace it with fresh. Before each use, it is advisable to rinse the kettle well from the inside, rinse off the resulting white flakes, and the kettle walls should be cleaned more often from plaque.
