What requirements should meet the pipe in the bath

According to fire safety requirements, the temperature of the outer surface of the pipe in places of contact with the roof elements should not exceed 50 degrees. If the pipe is brick, this requirement is met by itself. But if the pipe is metal, it is necessary to isolate it. There are several methods of pipe insulation, most of which are based on the principle of layering and the use of heat-insulating materials (most often mineral wool).

Duct insulation

To avoid contact with the tree, the chimney in the bath should be located in a special box at a distance of 15-20 centimeters from its walls. The space between the chimney and the walls of the duct is filled with fireproof heat-insulating materials based on mineral wool, broken brick or ordinary dried earth.

Sandwich chimneys

Recently, sandwich chimneys have become increasingly popular. In them, the inner surface is made of high-strength steel. Outside, another steel pipe is put on a steel pipe, with a larger diameter. All the free space between the pipes is filled with mineral wool with a density of about 120 kilograms per square meter. At the same time, mineral wool must withstand a working temperature of up to 700 degrees.

Modular chimneys

Modular chimneys in their design resemble a sandwich chimney. In them, the inner pipe is ceramic, and the outer casing is made of lightweight concrete. Installation of pipes from such modules is not difficult. The blocks are attached to each other using a solution, then waterproofing is carried out at the place where the pipe passes through the roof.
