You can make a plastic part at home, for this you do not have to purchase expensive equipment, molds and furnaces. There will be enough improvised means and a little patience.

Prepare the mold for the part. If you don’t have a suitable model, take any machinable material, such as wood or polystyrene, and use the knife and chisel to shape it. Cover the resulting product with a layer of wax paste or paraffin.

Use fiberglass and epoxy glue to make the part. Lay a layer of fiberglass on the paraffin-coated model, then apply glue. Repeat these steps 4-6 times, make sure that the fiberglass is well impregnated. Additionally, you can smooth the fabric with a brush dipped in acetone. If greater thickness is required, allow the structure to harden a little, sand it and apply new layers.

Instead of fiberglass, you can use ordinary knitwear or burlap, and instead of epoxy glue - casein or carpentry glue, as well as thick nitro-varnish or nitro-paint. In this case, be sure to add an antiseptic substance. In this case, consider a few points.

Pull the fabric over a model that is protected from paper sticking with wax or wax, and secure it with threads or nails. Lubricate with glue, and the carpentry glue, heat before use. Cut off excess fabric so that the joints of the top layer do not coincide with the seams of the bottom. To avoid holes from nails, when pulling each subsequent layer of fabric, remove them and fix the product again, in other places. Lay 4-8 layers and dry for 8-10 days.

After the workpiece has dried, cover it with a layer of putty on wood. Putty can be made independently of hot wood glue mixed with talc or chalk. Hide with it all the irregularities and structure of the material, the layer thickness should be no more than 0.2-0.3 mm. Leave the product to dry for 20-25 days.

Strip the finished part with sandpaper, cut off the edge and carefully remove it from the model by inserting thin wedges or using a chisel like a lever. Coat the product from "plastic" with soil and paint it with nitro paint or nitro-varnish, then grind to a mirror shine.
