A couple of decades ago, our mothers and grandmothers did not expect that they would invent such a miracle of technology as a washing machine. This device will wash and rinse and wring the laundry. But in our time, such a washing machine has become a real salvation, especially for working women.
Like any other household appliances, a washing machine requires some care. To avoid the appearance of an unpleasant odor in the machine, you need to follow a few simple recommendations:
- after washing, the door of the machine should be left open, this will help moisture evaporate naturally;
- washed items must be removed from the machine immediately after washing;
- no need to use the washing machine as a basket for dirty laundry.
In order to avoid the appearance of an unpleasant odor, you must also perform some preventive procedures:
- once a month and a half to start the machine in the idle wash mode (without linen) at 90 degrees, it’s nice to add 1 measuring cup of washing powder;
- 2-3 times a year, start the automatic machine in the "boiling" mode, but instead of using detergent, use citric acid - 20 g per kilogram of load, i.e. if the washing machine is designed for 5 kg of dry linen, then 100 g of lemon are quite enough;
- water remaining in the sealing gum should be removed with a sponge or a well-absorbing cloth, it is advisable to do this after each wash;
- It is also better to refuse washing at very low temperatures, otherwise dirt from the laundry will accumulate in the place of discharge, which will also cause an unnecessary smell;
- it is better to choose a washing powder of a well-known brand that has proven itself in the market of household chemicals, and use fabric softener strictly by necessity, and not in all washings in a row.
If all preventive measures are carried out, but the smell still appears, do not rush to contact the after-sales service. Perhaps the filter is just clogged. It’s not difficult to clean it, just open the panel that covers it, unscrew the filter, rinse it and dry it.
