If you have hard water in the water supply, then very quickly scale will form on the bottom and walls of the kettle, which will eventually get into tea or coffee. To get rid of this, regularly clean the kettle from scale in a simple way at home.

Pick up a full kettle of clean water. It can be water from the store or water filtered by a household filter. The main thing is that the water is not hard. If you use home filters, it is advisable to install new filters before the kettle cleaning procedure.

So, after you have poured water into the kettle, you need to add 1-2 teaspoons of citric acid to the water and stir. Some sources recommend adding 1-2 tablespoons, but in my experience a teaspoon is enough.

Boil the kettle in the usual way. If this is an electric kettle, then put it on the stand and turn it on, if it's an ordinary kettle, put it on the stove and light a fire. Wait for the water in the kettle to boil. The kettle will turn off automatically.

Pour acid and water into the sink or toilet. The teapot is usually clean after the first boil, but if you have a heavy pollution with scale, you can repeat the procedure or wash the teapot with a rag.

Again, fill the kettle with clean water and boil it already without acid. Drain the water. The kettle is ready for use.
