If the ironing rules are not followed, things from velveteen easily lose their attractive appearance. First of all, you need to choose the "right" iron, iron, ironing board. Ideally, the iron should be steam and have a thermostat, which eliminates the need to clean the soleplate. The temperature regulator always indicates which fabrics and at what temperature conditions you need to iron. An iron with a Teflon coating will not leave glossy spots on the product.

After washing the velveteen, do not let it dry completely; you need to iron it in a slightly wet state from the wrong side. Splashing water on a dry cloth is not recommended, as spots may form.

Lay a multilayer soft substrate on an ironing board, for example, a camel blanket, a plaid. Cotton velveteen is ironed with steam, and velveteen having elastane fibers requires a lower temperature for ironing. Do not press hard on the iron.

If, nevertheless, the product needs ironing from the front side, in order to avoid crushing of the pile and the formation of glossy spots, be sure to use an iron. Its size is usually 30 x 45 cm. It should be only slightly moist, not wet, otherwise the fabric may sit down.

A great way to iron a velveteen is to iron on weight. To do this, the heated iron is strengthened upwards with the sole and light movement, section by section, carried out with a cloth on the iron. Under the influence of warm steam, which was formed from the interaction of a warm iron and wet velveteen, the folds straighten, and the pile rises. With this method of ironing, the product is refreshed, and damage to the fabric with a hot iron is completely eliminated.

Corduroy items can be ironed using a regular feather pillow. Cover it with a clean, white linen cloth, and then lay the product or cloth upside down and cover with an iron. Iron lightly by touching the fabric. Considering that the feathers retain heat for a long time, with this method there is a long hot processing of the product, which helps to refresh the fabric.
