A footer is a natural knitted fabric made of cotton, which is deservedly popular among people who value ecological cleanliness and comfort. It is suitable for sewing sets of clothes for the smallest and does not bypass the needs of adults.

Unfortunately, in the last century, synthetic fabrics prevailed over environmentally friendly ones from hemp, nettle, flax, and cotton, with which the history of the origin of matter began. But that is why natural fabrics today are in incredible demand, especially among people who prefer comfort in clothes. "Futer" just refers to those desired "breathing" cotton fabrics that create a pleasant feeling when worn, do not cause allergies and are durable in use.

The technology of manufacturing fabric "footer"

Who and when began to produce fabric called "footer" is not known for certain. However, the name itself clearly has German roots. The word Futter means not only forage, but also lining fabric. The name perfectly characterizes the manufacturing technology of this fabric. The fact is that in the smooth knitted cotton fabric from the wrong side another thread is knitted - lined, which is fastened with broaches and subsequently combed. In this way, the lining threads form sketches on the main fabric.

Do not confuse a footer with fleece, which is also a knitwear, but more loose and light. If fleece is fleece polyester, then the footer is cotton fabric. The technology allows a small percentage of synthetic additives, such as polyester and viscose with lycra. The following types of footer are distinguished depending on the number of woven lining threads and the presence of synthetic fiber:

- two-thread;

- three-thread;

- with the addition of synthetics.

A three-strand footer, in turn, can be thick and thin, which resembles a bike in thickness. The addition of synthetic threads contributes to greater elasticity and comfortable fit of clothes, prevents deformation when worn. The canvas is produced both printed and smoothly dyed.
