The main causes of smoke
You must determine the cause of the smoke, and only then proceed to eliminate it. The appearance of smoke during kindling is very common. There may be several reasons. The main causes of smoke are: improper design of the fireplace, not the optimal design of the chimney and firebox, poor location of the fireplace and some other reasons.
So, if there is reverse draft in the fireplace, the smoke will not go out through the chimney, it will begin to spread throughout the room. Short-term rollover of the draft leads to a short emission of smoke from the fireplace. The reason may be a sharp opening of the front door or window. After stabilizing the air, the draft is normalized and the fireplace starts to work as before.
When the fireplace is kindled, smoke can also go, however, as during the laying of new firewood. Smoke can also be observed in the burning yard in the fireplace insert. In this case, smoke enters the room from the corners of the fireplace insert, as well as from under the arch of the firebox.
