Do not water the flowers on a consistent schedule - for example, every Tuesday. Each flower requires an individual approach - for example, some cacti in the winter do not need watering at all, and balm in the summer needs to be watered every day.
How to determine that a plant needs watering - lower your finger a little deeper into the soil, if it remains dry - water the plant. The exception is cacti, which for a long time can do without water.
