Types of insulation
All types of insulation can be divided into artificial and natural.
Natural insulation is fluff and feather.
Artificial. There are a lot of species. The most common today are sintepon, isosoft, tinsulate (biopuh), hollofiber.
Separately, you can highlight things insulated with batting. Now practically not available. And also things in which fur acts as a heater. Clothes with batting, fur, and wool insulation cannot be washed, so we will not dwell on them in detail.

Down Jackets with Natural Down
A down jacket with natural down will warm in any frost, it is light and convenient to use. And so that he serves you for a long time and does not lose his qualities, you must follow the simple, but effective rules for washing and care.
The most unpretentious in washing are quilted down jackets. The fluff during washing does not accumulate in one place, forming a "bag". Therefore, the down jacket will be easier to dry and less wrinkled.
- Do not wash the entire down jacket if there is one small spot. It is better to try to remove it locally. There are many modern effective tools for this.
- If the down jacket does not have “contraindications” for washing, then first you need to carefully examine it and determine the most polluted places. As a rule, this is a collar, cuffs, hem hem. It is better to stain these contaminants in advance. This can be done with a soft brush or with your hands. Just do not rub too hard so as not to damage the fabric. You can wash it with ordinary laundry soap (if the fabric allows) or use special tools. But detergent is not the best choice. He can leave stains on the fabric, not wash completely.
- Before washing, the product can be soaked, but this should only be done if it is very dirty. As a rule, this measure is necessary when washing children's overalls.
- Now you can proceed directly to washing. It is better to set the temperature of the washing machine to no more than 40 degrees (unless otherwise indicated on the label) and choose a delicate wash, or a wash of thin fabrics, or a hand wash.
- Rinse is best repeated several times to completely remove the cleaning agent.
- It is worth taking seriously the choice of the spin mode. At first glance it seems that it is better to do without spinning. But it turns out that the machine spin does not harm the fluff, so feel free to press the "spin" button, but still without fanaticism. 500-600 rpm is enough. Many experts recommend the use of special balls for washing - they will help the fluff to remain "fluffy" and not fall down. And experienced housewives claim that balls can be completely replaced with tennis balls. Just be sure to check before starting to wash, if they do not fade.
- Do not neglect the proper drying of the down jacket. It is impossible to dry the down jacket in the bathroom - it is warm and humid there, the fluff will not dry out completely and then it will smell bad. It is better to hang clothes on the shoulders in a room where there is good ventilation or on the balcony (but keep in mind that the sun should not directly shine on the down jacket). Can be hung near the battery (but not on the battery). The down jacket can not be dried, laying out horizontally, this will delay the drying process, and the fluff will begin to sing. In the drying process, from time to time it is necessary to shake the product and straighten it.
Isosoft
Isosoft is a material that consists of polyester balls. Clothing with insulation isosoft is very warm, light. It keeps heat well. It is important that this filler is hypoallergenic, which means it is well suited for the manufacture of children's clothing. Recently, coats and jackets with this filler are becoming more popular.
- If there are contraindications for washing (leather, fur and other details that cannot be washed), then the thing must be cleaned only with dry cleaning.
- In the absence of such restrictions, things with isosoft are quite unpretentious in washing. They can be washed manually and in a washing machine, setting the temperature to 40 degrees. It should be noted that things with isosoft should not be soaked. This procedure can damage the filler. You can erase with liquid and powder means, use capsules. The main thing is that they do not contain chlorine and other bleaching substances. It is optimal to use liquid products, since the powder is worse removed from the tissue.
- Machine spinning and drying are also contraindicated.
- For hand washing, dissolve the detergent in water, then put the product there. It is impossible to soak jackets with isosoft. In addition, they do not like active friction. Therefore, it is better not to rub hard and not to use hard brushes.
- When all dirt has been removed, rinse can begin. It can be long - until all the detergent is flushed.
- It is necessary to dry things with isosoft vertically, on the shoulders, preferably in a ventilated room. Water should drain itself, no need to squeeze. Isosoft dries quickly and, as a rule, after a few hours the thing can already be worn.
- It is not recommended to iron such things, so pay attention that the product does not wrinkle during drying.
Thinsulate (bio-fluff)
Thinsulite items are very effective at low temperatures, and are suitable for long-term outdoor use in cold weather. It is a synthetic material, highly environmentally friendly and hypoallergenic, wear-resistant.
- Strong soiling before washing is removed as well as from down jackets.
- It is necessary to wash things with a tinsulate in water no higher than 40 degrees to avoid deformation of the filler. After washing it is recommended to include an additional rinse.
- It is better to wring out at low speeds (no more than 600).
- Drying should be kept away from batteries and heaters, best on a balcony or on the street. Such things cannot be tumble dried.
- If after drying the thing needs to be ironed out, it is better to do it on the delicate ironing mode (not higher than 60 degrees).
Synthetic winterizer
The synthetic winterizer is an inexpensive, practical, convenient, unpretentious material. It protects from the cold.
- Things with padding polyester can be washed in a washing machine. If you follow simple rules, it will not lose its functional properties, and things will still look aesthetically pleasing. Jackets and coats made of synthetic winterizer cannot be soaked. Water temperature should be no more than 30 degrees. It is better to use special detergents for washing. - Machine spin is contraindicated.
- Drying things with padding polyester can be on the shoulders in the bathroom or in the sun. Just make sure that the top fabric of the product does not fade from sunlight.
Hollofiber
Things filled with holofiber are practical, inexpensive, warm well at low temperatures, are unpretentious.
- You can wash things with holofiber in the washing machine and manually. The washing temperature is allowed up to 90 degrees, but it is better to stick to lower temperatures.
- You can wring it in the car at high speeds and wring it out manually by twisting.
- Dry in a vertical form.
How to wash things with insulation
For washing things with insulation, it is not recommended to use powder products, preferably gels and liquid products. There are special tools designed for washing outerwear.
