Today, there are many dyes for Easter eggs on sale, however, not all manufacturers make their products truly safe for health. In order not to take risks, many housewives prefer to make such dyes at home, especially since this requires the most ordinary products that can be found in the nearest store.
Yellow dye for eggs
Yellow dye can be prepared on the basis of a decoction of pharmacy chamomile or from turmeric and carrots. To prepare dye from chamomile, you need to add 5 sachets of dried chamomile in 1 liter of water and cook for 25-30 minutes.
To make yellow dye in another way, take 1 liter of water, 3 tbsp each. grated carrots and turmeric powder. Boil the dye for 30 minutes, then immediately start staining.
Orange dye
Orange dye can be obtained from the juice of orange and tangerine zest, paprika, or the juice of red carrots. A beautiful orange tint to Easter eggs can be given as follows: dissolve 4 tablespoons of paprika in a glass of water and cook for 30 minutes over medium heat, after which the eggs can be lowered into a decoction. Also, hot boiled eggs can be dipped for a while in carrot juice with the addition of turmeric. Juice and turmeric can be taken in any proportions, depending on what color you need to get.
Red and brown
To get a red-brick shade of colored eggs, you can dip them in a decoction of onion husks or in the infusion of strong tea. Brown dye can also be obtained from pomegranate peel. The dye should be prepared as follows: the pomegranate peel or onion peel must be put in a wide pot and pour water. Then you need to put the pan on a slow fire and cook the dye for about 50 minutes, so that it acquires a saturated dark color.
Pink dye for eggs
Pink dye for Easter eggs can be prepared from beetroot juice, and a pink hue can be obtained by preparing a decoction from branches or cherry bark. Here is the easiest way to get the pink dye: chop 4 cups of beets, pour 4 cups of water and cook for 35 minutes. Strain the broth and soak the eggs in it.
Purple and blue
Boil frozen blueberries for 15 minutes, strain and cool. Put the eggs in the broth and cook. The hue will depend on the saturation of the broth. A large number of berries will give the eggs a rich purple color. Also, to paint eggs in blue will help a decoction of red cabbage leaves.
Green dye for easter eggs
Green color can be obtained with dried spinach, carrot tops, nettles, parsley and a mixture of blueberries with turmeric.
Take a handful of carrot tops in 0.5 l of water, cook for about half an hour, then dip the eggs in the dye. This amount of broth is enough to stain 2-3 eggs.
Take 3 tablespoons per 1 liter of water. dried nettle and boil the eggs in this solution. For 1 liter of blueberry decoction, take 2-3 tsp. turmeric (with a slide). Green dye for eggs is ready.
