Competent operation of the chainsaw significantly increases its service life. And the ability to properly operate (start) a chainsaw is an important factor in reducing overall wear and long operation of mechanisms.

Before starting the chainsaw, make sure that the hand brake is activated, oil and gasoline are filled in the required amount, and the chain has the necessary tension. After a general inspection, you can begin to work.

The Stihl control system has four modes: 0 - the engine is stopped, I - the engine is in operating mode, | \ | - engine start in a warm state, | - | - engine start in a cold state.

To start the process, it is necessary to press the stopper on the handle of the chainsaw and put the control lever into | - | mode. After that, you should pull on the starter (kick-starter cord handle) until the chainsaw starts and dies.

Moving the control lever to the | \ | mode, we continue to pull the kick starter launcher. This time, after putting the chainsaw in action, you should wait 8-10 seconds, so that it warms up.

We press the stopper on the handle, thanks to this action the control lever will move to mode I. Having switched the brake lever in the working position, you can start sawing. After completing work, to stop the engine, move the lever to mode 0.
Useful advice
If the engine was stopped less than an hour ago (in warm weather), you can start the chainsaw by skipping the | - | mode.
