Tulle curtains look very impressive on the windows, but on one condition: they must be snow-white. But over time, the tulle fades, turns gray or turns yellow. And ordinary washing is no longer able to return the curtains to whiteness. And the use of industrial bleaches can ruin the nylon fabric. In this case, "grandmother's funds" come to the rescue. And ordinary salt can bleach the tulle from yellowness.
Ordinary table salt is an excellent and safe way for fabric to whiten tulle from yellowness, while returning to the curtains their original spectacular appearance does not require much effort. There are several ways to use salt.
Whitening old tulle with a concentrated salt solution
To whiten strongly yellowed, old tulle curtains, you can use a saline solution of high concentration.
Prepare the curtains for bleaching, having cleaned them of dust and dirt - soak for one and a half to two hours in warm water with the addition of washing powder, then rinse thoroughly and squeeze slightly. Put in a clean basin.
Take a glass of salt and dissolve it in two and a half liters of hot water (so the salt will dissolve better). Allow the solution to cool to 35-45 degrees. Fill the tulle with salt solution, making sure that the curtain is completely saturated with it. Leave for the night, wash in the morning - and you will see that its bright whiteness has returned to the fabric.
How to whiten a slightly yellowed tulle
If the tulle curtains are slightly yellowed, bleaching them with salt is even easier. Prepare the tulle for bleaching in the same way as in the case of a heavily soiled fabric - soak in water with detergent and rinse thoroughly.
Dissolve 3-4 tablespoons of salt in warm water and add a little washing powder. Immerse the tulle in the solution and leave it for at least three to four hours, preferably at night. After that - wash on hands or in a washing machine and rinse thoroughly. The yellow shade will disappear, the tulle will look fresh and elegant.
